You Must Meet Lynda...
2 Ladies knows another inspirational person we'd like you to meet. Her name is Lynda, and she is an artist. She is a very talented and versatile artist who has worked in many mediums - stained glass, mosaics, ceramics, etc. Lynda is a product of the 60s, a true earth-loving hippie who sees beauty all around her in nature. She lives a hop, skip and a jump away from the Pacific Ocean, in her small one-bedroom cottage in the woods. It is surrounded by a tremendously big piece of land which she has fashioned into the most beautiful natural garden space.
Lynda is passionate about many things, mostly her dogs, Pip and Emma...
...and right now, her artistic passion is focused on wood - specifically manzanita.
She washes and scrubs the wood to bring out its natural beauty and color once again. This isn't painted - it's the original colors of the wood (though she did fill some cracks in with blue and green sand).
The branches are particularly beautiful for their graceful curves, and would look stunning in a flower arrangement or on their own.
These last few images are pieces that Lynda gave me, and they have a place of pride on my mantel.
She has also fashioned manzanita and driftwood into wreaths.
We could all learn from Lynda about surrounding ourselves in the beauty of nature and bringing calm and serenity into our homes. Take a look around next time you're walking through the woods and you might find great inspiration for a natural look in your home.
