Spring Decorating Ideas to Refresh Your Favorite Chair
I know I have one. I bet you do too; a favorite chair in your favorite space! Here are a few easy spring decorating ideas to refresh your favorite chair. I used a fresh eye on my existing decor items and changed things up a bit to add a spring vibe without spending money!
This year my goal is to simplify all aspects of my life, including my home decor. This space is one of my favorite places to sit in our home. The cool climate in Monterey, CA means this fireplace is on a lot! Also this fabulous chair from HomeGoods faces windows that look over our backyard view.
The mirror above the fireplace was originally painted black and in the entryway. To lighten and brighten my favorite space I repainted the mirror with Pure White Annie Sloan Chalkpaint and leaned it on the mantle. These glass candlesticks aren't new. To give them new interest I twisted these recycled glass leaves around them. The handmade artisan vase is from HomeGoods. I love its modern lean look which is a great contrast to the other decor pieces. The flowers in the vase seem to multiply in the mirror!
The white ceramic side table was moved here from the living room. I like the way it brightens this vignette. The books topped with this small tray from HomeGoods make the perfect spot to add a pop of pink with fresh flowers and a scented candle. I love the scent of agapรฉ candles! Blush is a delicious scent. (Click here for agapรฉ candles) .
I removed the heavy faux fur throw and pillow from the chair. I love the light cotton fabric in this throw from HomeGoods. A special touch is the knotted fringe. In keeping with my simple theme, the pillow is grey and white. However the pattern of this Pottery Barn pillow adds a ton of texture!
To modernize this space and create even more comfort I added this furry footstool from HomeGoods. I love putting my feet up after a long day!
In this room I had already rolled up my heavy ivory wool rug. The bare floors lighten the look of the room for spring. I still kept out a fluffy sheepskin rug for texture, and it's my dog's favorite place to curl up!
By keeping to my light, bright, and simple theme I have changed up my favorite space for spring! I hope you enjoy decorating your space for spring! xoxo~Joan
