Fall Home Tour: 2 Ladies & A Chair
Hi everyone! Thanks for coming to my fall home tour.
Fall is one of my favorite times of the year! Fall conjures up images of cozy sweaters, long walks under colorful leaves, and intimate chats around the fireplace. Of course pumpkins and the wonderful smells of cinnamon and pumpkin spice fill my imagination. But I think one of the reasons I love fall so much is the color! Warm tones of orange, brown, red, and yellow are so welcoming in our homes.
Colorful leaves are spilling out of this galvanized florist bucket greeting my friends and family at the door. I will try to keep autumnal flowers in the entryway this year. Fresh flowers make such a difference in decorating! I couldn't wait to pull out my leopard bag for fall - leopard works in all seasons but I waited until now to make it special.
The grey sofa in my front room is the perfect backdrop for yellow accessories. This combination of colors maintains the calm relaxed atmosphere I want in this space. (This is my quiet space when my husband is watching something on TV in the family room that's not interesting.)
This fall I wanted new dinnerware and accessories for the dining room. Off I went to HomeGoods! I love these gold leaf plates. They sparkle and shine. Then I went a little plaid crazy. But why not? Plaid is great in the fall.
I added these beautiful baskets here for their warmth and texture. I always like to try new things, so I made a paper wreath this fall. I really like the way it turned out and it adds a bit of the unexpected to my family room. (click here to see how I made it)
On this sofa I piled on loads of texture - rich velvet, soft chenille, and cozy faux fur. The colors are dramatic! I especially like the yellowish gold with black, and the boldness of the embroidered bumble bee pillow. The velvet plush pumpkins are the perfect accent from HomeGoods.
The bar cart essentially becomes a wine bar in the fall. For whatever reason wine is my beverage of choice in the fall, especially red wine.
The kitchen naturally fills up with fall fruits so I don't have to do much decorating in here. I do look forward to getting out my white pumpkin plates. This year I placed a cowhide rug from HomeGoods under the kitchen table to add warmth, texture, and color.
It's so much fun to have seasonal decor in the bedroom! It changes things up and brightens my day.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Fall is a never ending season of change...soon Halloween decor, then Thanksgiving! Then sooner than we think we are all rushing to prepare for Christmas. So, I hope you all enjoy your early fall season before it gets crazy. xoxo-joan
