Light, Bright, and Cozy Decor Transitions from the Holiday Season
If you're like me you miss all your bright, fun, holiday decor. I also miss all the holiday parties. The dark winter days can also dull our spirits. The winter blues! I made an effort this year to lift those 'winter blues'. I made a light, bright, and cozy transition from the holiday season this year.
I started with the entryway. I added color! I love the bright beautiful color of these vases and repeated those colors with stacks of books. I lightened this vignette with the glass frame I found at HomeGoods. For a bit of whimsey I added a photo of dogs looking at my front door. The reflective mirror tray keeps the look shiny and bright! This faux fur stool embraces the cozy feel.
Fresh flowers and plants are a must to lift the mood of a room to light and bright. These topiaries from HomeGoods mixed with live plants and fresh flowers have me thinking of spring and warmer days. Bright white faux fur accessories create a cozy vibe.
Even my bookcase has been lightened and brightened up for winter. I kept the look simple with stacks of my favorite books. Then I added all things shiny and bright and white!
After taking down my lit Christmas garland and wreath, my mantel looked so sad and dark. I added white frames that instantly lighten the space. The colorful prints create much needed interest. I found this giant pineapple at HomeGoods. I love it! So I thought I would display a collection of pineapples. Lanterns full of battery operated candles as well as the string of fairy lights help make the dark winter nights bright. This cozy sweater pompom pillow is one of my new favorites I found at HomeGoods.
Fresh flowers are a must! I love Trader Joe's for so many reasons but the number one reason is they have tulips in January! More candles and fairy lights. This little lucite box from HomeGoods is filled with moonstones from Cambria, CA reminding me that sun filled beach-combing days are coming soon.
HomeGoods has a fabulous selection of throw pillows, so adding bright whites to my grey bedroom was easy. I pile on layers of texture to keep the bed cozy on winter nights. This time of year I like putting out subtle reminders to my husband that he loves me and Valentine's Day is coming soon.
Keeping my decor light, bright, and cozy has made my transition from holiday decor easy this year!
Of course I already have ideas for changes to my decor this spring!
Thanks for stopping by! Happy decorating!
