Fall Decor: Transitioning Seasons

Fall Decor: Transitioning Seasons

Welcome to my Fall Decor: Transitioning Seasons home tour. I’m so happy you stopped by. At the end of my tour I’ll have the links to other fall home tours from some amazingly talented bloggers!  I know you won’t want to miss them!

I adore fall, when the air cools and we all rush around getting ready for a busy season. Images of a crackling fire, mulled hot cider, and the welcome smells of pumpkin, apple, and cinnamon are on my mind. I gather inspiration from long walks and enjoy all the new textures a new season brings. Especially in the fall I like to collect these natural elements and display them in my home.

Last year I created this tablescape for Thanksgiving. I loved the use of natural elements, textures, and soft colors.  I knew I wanted to expand on this theme for this year’s fall decor. So in my family room I went with textured neutrals. I think blush is a neutral and works beautifully in this color scheme.

First thing I did was set the scene with this textured sea grass rug, then layered it with a cozy sheepskin.

The smells of the season are so important when decorating. I love the delicious scent of this pumpkin chai candle.

I’ve scattered pumpkins around the room. I can’t wait until real pumpkins are out! I love this graceful branch of turning leaves and its muted shades.

A "Hello" pillow welcomes my friends and family in the entryway. I brightened up the grey with pops of yellow and gold. Cozy throws and a hand woven French basket make an inviting atmosphere.

For my grey sofa in the living room, I went with black and white pillows. I kept the colors simple in this small space, and loaded it with texture.

My natural decor elements include found deer antlers and pine cones that I bleached. I love how they turned out!

In my bedroom I piled up the layers. Linen is my favorite fabric for the bedroom. I like the small details on the bedding, like the diamond pattern on the euro shams or the tassels on this white coverlet.

Fall is my favorite time to be outside enjoying nature and bringing it into my home. Real pumpkins and acorns will be added in a few weeks!
