Neutral Living Room Decor for Fall

Neutral Living Room Decor for Fall

The fall season is finally here! Thank you for stopping by to see my neutral living room decor for fall. I find that when I decorate for fall it's a continual process.  For early fall I like to establish a color scheme and theme that I will keep adding to until Thanksgiving day. Right now, real pumpkins are scarce so faux pumpkins take center stage. I will be adding real pumpkins to my decor as they become available. In October I bring out Halloween. Right after Halloween it's all about turkeys! Needless to say, my home decor could look extremely cluttered with all these decorations in my small living room space. That's why I'm keeping it simple this year, and using a neutral living room decor for fall.

When you enter my front door, you come into a combination of rooms: entryway, small living room, and dining room. (You can see my entryway fall decor HERE) There is also a staircase and a hallway to the family room and kitchen. There is a lot going on in this small space! To make it easier on the eye, I went with a neutral color scheme.

My neutral palette was well established with white walls and a grey sofa. For interest I included soft greens. To warm up the space, gold is my go to color!

Plenty of textures are layered on my sofa. I found gorgeous down filled throw pillows at HomeGoods this year and love the results. The velvet pillows are my favorites! I love the details; like the chunky gold zipper and cut out design. I couldn't pass up this gorgeous pumpkin pillow so perfect for the season with sparkling beads!

To me, fall is all about textures and nature! Leaves, pine cones, smooth pumpkins, and yes, this antler I found while walking in the woods.

Another image I have for fall is sweaters and cozy nights by candlelight. Nothing represents the feeling of cozy togetherness more than this chunky knit throw blanket.

I wanted natural elements in my decor so I chose to put fall fruit in this golden bowl.

My living room is a TV-free zone. It has become a bit of a book nook area in my home.

Simple straight stacks of books with their spines to the wall for a cleaner appearance. Then green topiaries and natural textures to fill in the bookcase. I love these velvet pumpkins I found at HomeGoods! The lanterns have battery-timed candles which give a beautiful soft glow at night.

I've had this "hello" pillow for years now, and I still love it. When you walk in my front door it greets my guests with a welcoming "hello"!

I hope you like my neutral living room decor for fall. I would love to see you next week when I feature the other side of this room, the dining room!  (You can scroll to the end to subscribe, then you'll receive a blog alert in your e-mail when I post.)

Happy fall decorating! xoxo~joan
